Grants and distributions come from a variety of charitable funds and sources, such as endowed and non-endowed nonprofit funds, online donations through ColoradoGives.org, the Lutheran Legacy Fund, Donor-Advised Funds, funds restricted to Exempla Lutheran Medical Center, and other discretionary and restricted funds to which donors have contributed over time.

Community First Foundation, with the assistance of FirstBank and other corporate sponsors, granted back nearly $624,000 in third-party processing fees to support online giving throughout the year via ColoradoGives.org, including Colorado Gives Day.

Lutheran Legacy Fund Grants

Community First Foundation launched a new granting initiative to promote health, wellness and the prevention of sickness and disease in the communities served by Exempla Lutheran Medical Center. We granted nearly $600,000 to the following nonprofits from the Lutheran Legacy Fund in its inaugural year.

The Action Center
Colorado Legacy Foundation

Each grant recipient also received additional financial support to participate in a Foundation-led learning circle. The learning circle will provide opportunities for the group to discuss issues, barriers, challenges, and lessons learned.
