Below is an overview of The Innovators Society experience for nonprofit participants.
Nonprofits with promising, but not proven, approaches to mental wellness apply to participate in The Innovators Society.
Round one applications CLOSED on October 13, 2015.
Four to six organizations are selected to participate in The Innovators Society and matched with coaches. Each receives a $25,000 grant for coaching support.
Coaches work with the nonprofits for several months on strategic planning, marketing, branding and preparing a presentation pitch. Pitch scrimmages allow nonprofit innovators to practice their presentations and receive feedback from Innovators Society members.
$500,000 in Community First Foundation grant dollars is awarded to the participating nonprofit innovators at the Community Pitch Showdown. The Showdown is a theater-style event during which The Innovators Society and a group of community leaders, investors and funders vote on the final pitches and award Community First Foundation grant dollars through real-time voting.
The Innovators Society comes alongside the nonprofits as they continue implementation, culminating in a capstone event. The capstone event will showcase each innovation’s promotion of mental wellness in the community.
