ARVADA, CO (February 20, 2015) – Community First Foundation has appointed two new board members who bring professional experience in finance and education to the foundation along with decades of community and public service.
The new board members are Cynthia M. Stevenson, senior consultant, Public Education, Business Coalition and David L. Bomberger, chief investment officer, Pinnacol Assurance.
“Cindy and Dave bring great insights and depth of knowledge to our already-strong board,” said Marla J. Williams, president and CEO of Community First Foundation. “These outstanding community leaders will be a tremendous asset to the Board of Directors and Community First Foundation moving forward.”
Bomberger currently serves Pinnacol Assurance as the chief investment officer and has held that position since 2012. He has more than 35 years of experience guiding large investment portfolios. His responsibilities as chief investment officer include managing Pinnacol’s investment portfolio for maximum return, while ensuring its risk, quality and duration.
Cynthia Stevenson, Ph.D., serves as a senior consultant with the Public Education and Business Coalition (PEBC). Before joining PEBC, she served as director of the CASE (Colorado Association of School Executives) Leadership Initiative, providing support to school leaders and districts to impact teaching, learning and school improvement efforts. In 2014, Stevenson retired from the Jefferson County School District after more than 40 years as a teacher, principal, deputy superintendent and superintendent.
