Community First Foundation and Yampa Valley Community

Foundation Join Forces to Increase Online Giving in Yampa Valley
Partnership to Bolster ColoradoGives.org in Northwest Colorado

ARVADA, Colo. (March 24, 2014) – Community First Foundation is pleased to announce it has joined forces with the Yampa Valley Community Foundation to strengthen online giving in Northwest Colorado. The Yampa Valley Community Foundation will lead the effort to increase online giving in Routt and Moffat Counties through ColoradoGives.org.

ColoradoGives.org is a year-round, online giving website presented by Community First Foundation. The website provides comprehensive, up-to-date information about local charities and is an easy way for donors to support them online. The site features nearly 1,500 Colorado nonprofits and is the platform for Colorado Gives Day. Since its inception in 2007, ColoradoGives.org has raised more than $81 million for Colorado nonprofits.

The Yampa Valley Community Foundation will help develop custom pages on ColoradoGives.org specifically designed to engage nonprofits, donors and businesses located in the Yampa Valley, which reaches from the town of Yampa through Steamboat Springs to Hayden and Craig. The Foundation will help train local nonprofits on how to successfully fundraise online, promote ColoradoGives.org and Colorado Gives Day through local media, special events and sponsorships.

“We are so pleased to partner with the Yampa Valley Community Foundation,” said Marla J. Williams, president and CEO of Community First Foundation. “Their ongoing commitment to raising funds for community initiatives and supporting local nonprofits, coupled with our experience in online giving, is a powerful combination that elevates our “Give where you live” message to a new level.”

“This is a wonderful opportunity to expand charitable giving in Northwest Colorado by reaching younger donors as well as people of all ages and resources,” said Mark D. Andersen, executive director of the Yampa Valley Community Foundation. “Community First Foundation has achieved great success with increased giving in the Denver Metro area. Our intention is to raise the level of participation significantly in our region and further our primary objective of connecting people who care with causes that matter.”
