May 5 is #GivingTuesdayNow Colorado – Give Where You Live and Support COVID-19 relief funds

On Tuesday, May 5, Colorado nonprofits will participate in  #GivingTuesdayNow, an international day of giving and unity supporting the emergency response to and the unprecedented needs caused by COVID-19. The day is designed to drive generosity among individuals, businesses and philanthropic organizations, as well as civic engagement in support of communities and nonprofits around Colorado and the world.

Teal quote box with quote from Governor Polis - The Colorado COVID-19 relief fund is key to fighting this deadly virus. It ensures that we can support those that are in most need. This is a great example of Coloradans coming together to lend a hand to one another. Community First Foundation is providing more than 2,600 nonprofits with a safe and secure giving platform, ColoradoGives.org. Here you can find direct links to many local relief funds, including Help Colorado Now, Community First Foundation Jeffco Hope Fund and thousands of Colorado nonprofits. Nonprofits not already using the site can still participate if they enroll and build a ColoradoGives profile by April 28. More than 77 nonprofits have dedicated COVID-19 relief funds already established.

Colorado nonprofits are rallying donors during this exceptional time of need to support them in their efforts to begin community healing from COVID-19 by kickstarting the rebuilding process. Community First Foundation encourages Coloradans to give where they live on #GivingTuesdayNow through ColoradoGives.org.

“Coloradans are some of the most generous people in the world,” says Kelly Dunkin, president and CEO of Community First Foundation. “As our state and local communities begin to reopen, it’s more important than ever to support our nonprofits who have helped sustain us through this crisis. Colorado is demonstrating the power of hope and our ability to make an impact through acts of generosity, both financial and with gifts of our time and talents, to ensure the sustainability of organizations and services that are crucial to the care and support of our communities.”

Generosity gives everyone power to make a positive change in the lives of others and is a fundamental value anyone can act on. It’s a day for all Coloradans to stand together and give back in all ways, no matter who or where we are.
