ARVADA, Colo. (Oct. 14, 2014) – Colorado Gives Day, an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving, returns Dec. 9 with more than $100,000 in cash prizes for nonprofits from corporate partner FirstBank, Colorado’s largest locally owned bank.

For the fifth consecutive year, Community First Foundation and FirstBank are partnering to present Colorado Gives Day. FirstBank has committed $600,000 this year to support the statewide online giving movement. To date, Colorado Gives Day has distributed $58.1 million to Colorado nonprofits.

Live Drawings December 8 During Rally at the Capitol
Nonprofits will have a chance to win one of five $1,000 cash prizes at a live drawing at the Colorado Gives Day Rally, held at 11 a.m. on December 8 at the State Capitol. During the Rally, FirstBank will hold random drawings and award $1,000 prizes to four nonprofits attending the rally and one regional nonprofit selected from groups that register online.

Trivia Contest Provides More Cash for Nonprofits
FirstBank is sponsoring a trivia contest on the FirstBank Facebook page December 1-5. As part of the trivia contest, 10 lucky Colorado Gives Day supporters will choose nonprofits to receive $1,000 cash prizes. FirstBank will randomly select two winners each day from correct answers posted on the Facebook page. Each winner will select a Colorado Gives Day nonprofit to receive a $1,000 cash award.

Luck of the Draw Prizes Total $85,000
FirstBank is also sponsoring 17 Luck of the Draw prizes worth $5,000 each for nonprofits. To be eligible for the drawing, first-time participants must receive a minimum of 30 donations through ColoradoGives.org, and returning nonprofits must have an increase in dollars raised over last year. The Luck of the Draw winners are selected randomly after Colorado Gives Day.

“FirstBank continues to demonstrate its commitment to the community by making a substantial cash donation and adding to the excitement of Colorado Gives Day,” said Marla J. Williams, president and CEO of Community First Foundation. “The $100,000 in cash prizes draws attention to Colorado Gives Day and inspires more Coloradans to participate. We are so grateful for the FirstBank partnership and for the outstanding support.”

“Colorado Gives Day has become one of the biggest online fundraisers in the nation,” said John Ikard, CEO of FirstBank Holding Company. “We couldn’t have grown it to its current magnitude without the thousands of nonprofits that participate and encourage their stakeholders and supporters to contribute to this cause each year. We’re thrilled we can provide a strong financial contribution to Colorado Gives Day as a corporate partner and also give $100,000 in cash prizes and incentives to these nonprofits who really help drive awareness and donations.”

$1 Million Incentive Fund
To further energize giving and motivate donors to give on Colorado Gives Day, Community First Foundation and FirstBank are offering a $1 Million Incentive Fund. The incentive fund, one of the largest giving-day incentive funds in the country, proportionally increases the value of every dollar  donated. For example, if a nonprofit organization receives 10 percent of the total amount raised on Colorado Gives Day, that same nonprofit receives 10 percent of the $1 Million Incentive Fund. The 2014 Incentive Fund is 300 percent larger than last year.
