Jaime Tomás Aguilar (center), was recognized by Denver Human Services as one of their 2022 Unsung Community Leaders
“To know him is to love him…” We’re not sure who first coined that phrase, or when it got famous. We do know it’s a great way to describe Jaime Aguilar, one of our program officers for Community First Foundation. If you’ve met him, you’re familiar with his soft spoken, good-natured personality. But don’t let that fool you entirely! Jaime is also a master connector of people. An empathetic listener. A do-er that gets stuff done.
This week, he was recognized by Denver Human Services as one of their 2022 Unsung Community Leaders. Check out his nomination below, watch the video, and celebrate Jaime!
Jaime brings the Villa Park community together through his leadership as the president of Villa Park Neighborhood Association. He has recently focused his work around Joseph P. Martinez park where he worked to make the park safe and welcoming for all.
There are many, many examples of how he has brought communities together, including through a birthday celebration for Private Joseph P. Martinez who the park was named after, where more than 100 residents celebrated together.
Jaime connects people through shared values of community and music.
Today we thank you for your ongoing commitment to Villa Park, to its residents, for your contagious and gentle kindness that you spread throughout our neighborhoods, and your passion for jamming out in the west side, we honor you and name you as a 2022 Denver Human Services Community Leader.
